Philadelphia Business Journal: New CEO of life-sciences firm aims to refine long-term strategy

Less than three months after its formation, Minaris Advanced Therapies has appointed its first CEO.

Orla Cloak, who has 20 years of commercial leadership experience in the life-sciences industry, assumed the role late last month at the newly created cell and gene therapy contract development and manufacturing organization, or CDMO, based at the Philadelphia Navy Yard.

Minaris was established in May to combine two acquisitions made earlier this year by New York–based investment firm Altaris. Altaris purchased Minaris Regenerative Medicine of Japan, which had its U.S. operations in North Jersey, along with the U.S. and U.K. operations of CDMO WuXi Advanced Therapies.
